She supported various crime fighting initiatives, and was particularly vehement against gender-based violence in her community. She will be remembered for her hard work, dedication, passion and love for the communities she served.

She was sweet and kind and a real pleasure to work with. She is remembered as someone who was always willing to help those around her and who always put the interests of others above her own. Her manager described her as a person whose job was her highest priority and about whom there were never any complaints.

Comrade Mbolekwa was one of the principled leaders of our union, a dedicated unionist who remained very loyal to our cause and struggle for workers’ rights. We shall fondly remember him for his lively character — a humble activist who played an important role in the new terrain of democratic politics. His genius was more evident when leading the collective interests of our membership, especially during difficult times.

He was a faithful servant of God. He passionately nurtured and provided for his family, friends, and anyone in need and held a keen intellect, and inner strength. Delport is fondly remembered for his deep faith in God and the impact he made on many lives. His vision was not to build a big church but to build big people. He kept the family together with a heart after God's own.

He was an excellent rugby player in his youth, a strong leader and head of the Slambee family. He was known for his strictness, good humour and ability to connect with people easily and set them at ease.
